Celebrated the Eucharist

On Monday 8 December, we celebrated the Eucharist in our congregational Chapel at Potts Point, during which we commissioned our newly-elected Congregational Leader and Council: Sister Annette Cunliffe, Congregational Leader, and four Councillors: Sisters Libbey Byrne, Laureen Dixon, Teresita Marcelo and Gaye Reynolds. We wish them every blessing as they begin their new ministry of leadership within our Congregation

The Eucharist began with a welcome to our principal celebrant, Archbishop Adrian Doyle of Hobart and concelebrant, Bishop Bernard O’Grady OP, the families and friends of our five new leaders, and many Sisters of Charity. Before the Liturgy of the Word, the commissioning ceremony was led by the outgoing Congregational Leader, Sister Elizabeth Dodds RSC and all the sisters present spoke a prayer of blessing over our new CL&C. The music was enhanced by the eminent organist, Mr Edward Theodore and the enthusiastic singing of all present.

At the conclusion of the Eucharist, the celebration continued with lunch in the boarders’ dining room.

May God bless our new CL&C with every grace as they begin this next step of their ministry!
