Diamond Jubilee of Sr Genevieve Walsh rsc

Sr Genevieve Walsh was first Professed 25th January 1964,

60 years on Sr Genevieve with Family, Sisters. and friends celebrated the Eucharist and afternoon tea.
The Diamond Jubilee Celebration began with the Eucharist at St John of God Church Auburn. This was the place chosen in order that Sisters from the St Vincent’s Aged Care could attend. Genny’s brother Kevin Walsh was the Principal Celebrant with Fr Paul Crowley, Cousin, and Fr Richard Pp Auburn as concelebrants. Genny supported by her Sisters renewed her Vows and this was followed by the offertory procession of family representatives, primary and secondary class mates, her Vows and students from Year 4, 1965, Genny’s first class as a teacher.  At the end of the Eucharist Sr Laureen Dixon presented Genny with the Papal Blessing.  This was followed by afternoon tea, cutting of the cake and many photos.  This was a very joyous occasion not only for Genny but for all who attended. Many unable to attend sent cards and well wishes.  Genny expresses her gratitude for her vocation, her life, family, friends and all her Sisters in Christ, the Sisters of Charity!
