Melbourne RSC Companions
Sisters of Charity Companions groups were established in Melbourne and Sydney in 2008. RSC Companions is a group of men and women who are connected with the Sisters of Charity from their student days, or via their work in education, health or pastoral care or through their local parish. As Companions, we gather and explore ways in which to continue our links to the rich history of the Sisters.
In 2009, the following vision statement was composed:
As RSC Companions, we are inspired by the spirit, dream and life of Mary Aikenhead, foundress of the Sisters of Charity, and the unfolding of this dream over two centuries.
We support one another by friendship, prayer and our endeavour to show Christ’s compassion to all, ever aware of, and responsive to the changing needs of the times.
Melbourne Companions gather together four times each year on a Sunday afternoon and explore themes such as Hope, Indigenous Spirituality, Prophetic Voices and The Pilgrim Experience. Companions is an evolving group with a varied membership.
Who is welcome? Anyone who would like to join us as we gather for prayer, friendship, and reflection on faith and life.
