Libbey Byrne rsc
When I was born in the 1950s, I was named Elizabeth Mary Byrne, but I’ve been “Libbey” for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Sydney, I was educated by the Sisters of St Joseph and Sisters of Charity.
After Teacher’s College, I began my working life as a secondary teacher in Catholic Schools in Sydney. and joined the Sisters of Charity in 1979, continuing in ministry as teacher until 1987 when I discovered a love for pastoral ministry and Adult Faith Formation.
My ministry has taken me to various dioceses and parishes in New South Wales and Victoria. I am passionate about helping others connect the dots between their faith, everyday life and baptismal vocation as People of God.
I have been privileged to be part of conversation and reflection groups in parishes, dioceses and our Sisters of Charity Companions in Sydney. When time permits, I love the surf, reading, and movies.
