Born in Brisbane, I grew up in Sydney, the eldest of seven children and was educated at St Raphael’s School, South Hurstville and St Mary’s Star of the Sea High School, Hurstville. After novitiate in the Sisters of Charity, I did my teacher training and taught for 19 years in primary schools in New South Wales and Victoria.
Desiring to minister more directly with the marginalised, I began ministering in Sisters of Charity Outreach in 1994, taking on various roles including, the Parent Support Program, Refuge for Women and Children escaping domestic violence and as the Volunteer Educator, helping to train the many volunteers who were the backbone of Outreach.
In 1996, I took a renewal year experiencing the beauty of Australia, family history and the spirituality of our First Nations Peoples.
Being passionate about people in Australia seeking asylum, I was next missioned to Jesuit Refuge Service as the Volunteer Coordinator.
In March 2021 at our Chapter I was elected as a Councillor, a very different ministry, but I believe it is where the Spirit is calling me now.
